The initial run of the APL was short-lived, but the new iteration aims to elevate its profile among global franchise cricket leagues. While ownership of the Kandahar team has been confirmed, other franchises remain open for sale with official announcements expected soon. The league is scheduled to commence on December 27 in the UAE and will feature teams representing iconic Afghan cricketing regions.
