Aiden Markram discusses South Africa's ambitions for the 2027 cricket season ahead of Cape Town Test against Australia
Aiden Markram aims to help South Africa reach the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final again after their first title win in 2025. South Africa won the 2025 WTC Final against Australia by five wickets, with Markram scoring 136 runs. Looking ahead to 2027, South Africa needs to win at least five of their remaining eight tests in the 2025-27 WTC cycle to have a strong chance of reaching the final. They also target winning the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup, which will be held at home. Markram emphasized a selfless approach focused on team success rather than personal statistics as they prepare for these major goals.
