BCCI denies reports of India vs Sri Lanka ODI venue shift from Delhi to Ahmedabad
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has clarified that it has not decided to move the opening ODI between India and Sri Lanka, scheduled for December 13, from Delhi to Ahmedabad. The match remains allocated to Delhi as per BCCI's usual venue rotation policy despite reports suggesting a shift linked to renovations at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Renovations, expected to last around four months, include pitch relaying and improved drainage, possibly affecting the stadium's availability for domestic games. India is set to host Sri Lanka for three ODIs and three T20Is in December, with the BCCI urging media to rely on official announcements for schedule updates. Recently, India won their ODI series against the West Indies 2-1, with Sri Lanka last touring India in 2023 for a 3-0 ODI series loss.
