Ben Stokes joins Adelaide Strikers for 2026-27 Big Bash League season
Ben Stokes, the former England cricket captain, has signed with the Adelaide Strikers for the 2026-27 Big Bash League (BBL) season. The 35-year-old announced his retirement from international cricket in June, after a series defeat to New Zealand. Stokes played 122 Tests, 114 ODIs, and 43 T20 matches for England, including a key role in England's 2019 World Cup victory. He expressed enthusiasm about playing in Australia again and contributing to the Strikers in the BBL. Stokes previously had a brief stint with the Melbourne Renegades in 2015. Adelaide Strikers coach Tim Paine praised Stokes as a top all-rounder and competitor.
