Cheteshwar Pujara criticizes India's decision to exclude Manav Suthar from New Zealand Test squad
Cheteshwar Pujara has expressed surprise and disagreement with the exclusion of spinner Manav Suthar from India's Test squad for the upcoming New Zealand tour. Pujara argued that Suthar, who has performed well in domestic cricket, deserved to be included at least as a reserve, as the experience of playing in New Zealand would benefit his development. The Indian squad for the two-match Test series, starting November 19, includes Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav as spin options but omits Suthar. Pujara also highlighted the infrequent nature of India's tours to New Zealand, emphasizing the limited opportunities young players have to gain experience in challenging overseas conditions. Additionally, he expressed concern about the pace bowling attack's lack of experience in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, although he felt confident in India's batting lineup.
