Dasun Shanaka Smashes Fastest Century In CPL History

Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka produced one of the most explosive innings in Caribbean Premier League history, smashing a record-breaking century for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots against the St Lucia Kings. Shanaka reached his hundred from just 39 deliveries, setting a new record for the fastest century in CPL history. Shanaka Finishes On 121 Not Out The Sri Lankan entered the innings during the middle overs and completely transformed the Patriots’ momentum. He eventually finished unbeaten on 121 from only 43 balls, including eight fours and 12 sixes. His strike rate of 281.40 underlined just how destructive the innings was. Incredible Final Five Overs Shanaka accelerated dramatically during the closing stages. At the end of 15 overs, the Patriots were on 142, with Shanaka having scored 40 from 18 deliveries. The batting side then exploded for 93 runs in the final five overs, including 10 sixes. Shanaka himself took 28 runs from the final over, striking four sixes and a four as St Kitts & Nevis finished on 235. Patriots Win By 137 Runs St Lucia Kings were left chasing an enormous target of 236. They never came close. The Kings were bowled out for only 98, handing the Patriots a commanding 137-run victory. Jeremiah Louis starred with the ball by taking five wickets, while Wanindu Hasaranga and Ashmead Nedd claimed two each. A Historic Night For Shanaka Shanaka’s innings was not simply another T20 century. His 39-ball hundred is now the fastest ever recorded in the CPL, giving the former Sri Lanka captain another major achievement in franchise cricket.
