Dinesh Karthik Supports Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Suggests Dropping Abhishek Sharma from India T20I Team
Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has recommended that the Indian cricket team drop opener Abhishek Sharma to accommodate Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the playing eleven for the final match of the ongoing five-match T20I series against New Zealand. Karthik highlighted that whenever Sooryavanshi was considered for selection, Sanju Samson was usually the one dropped, while Sharma has retained his spot in most games. To manage player workload, Karthik advised the team management to rest Sharma in the fifth T20I scheduled for November 1 in Hamilton, allowing Sooryavanshi to play alongside Samson as openers. Sooryavanshi has participated in only two games due to Ishan Kishan’s injury, showing a strong performance with a 45-run knock off 19 balls opening in one match, but he was left out in the fourth match, which India lost heavily.
