England announces squad for Pakistan tri-nation ODI series; Mason Crane recalled after 8 years, Jofra Archer rested
The England and Wales Cricket Board has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming tri-nation ODI series in Pakistan against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, with Harry Brook continuing as captain. Experienced spinner Adil Rashid has recovered from injury and is included in the squad, alongside all-rounder Sam Curran returning from a groin injury. Fast bowler Jofra Archer has been rested for workload management. Notably, Mason Crane is recalled to the national team after nearly eight years, due to his strong domestic performances as a leg-spinner, particularly suited for subcontinental conditions. This series serves as preparation for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
