England exclude bowler Brydon Carse again for third Test versus Pakistan at Edgbaston
Brydon Carse, the Durham fast bowler, has been left out of England's squad for the third Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston, following ongoing police and Cricket Regulator investigations into an assault allegation related to a late-night incident at a Derby bar last month. Carse had missed the second Test for the same reason, though he was in the squad for the first Test but did not play. The only change to the England squad from the Lord's Test is the absence of Matthew Fisher. England's seamers are expected to benefit from regular play together, with no changes expected in the playing XI. In contrast, Pakistan has sacked head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and dropped seven players after their series defeat. England will soon shift focus to a white-ball series against Sri Lanka starting on 15 September.
