Gautam Gambhir Provides Update on Rishabh Pant's Availability for New Zealand Test Series
Following India's 3-2 win over New Zealand in the T20I series, India head coach Gautam Gambhir addressed questions about Rishabh Pant's availability for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand. Gambhir stated he had no update on Pant's condition, indicating the Indian team management had not yet received information from the medical team. Pant has been out of action due to a left-side strain along with wrist and shoulder issues sustained during the Irani Cup, and although named in the squad, he remains a fitness doubt as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has kept him out as a precaution. Pant's potential absence is significant given his strong Test record in SENA countries, where he has scored six centuries. The uncertainty remains over whether Pant will participate in the series.
