
ICC ODI World Cup 2027 schedule to be announced on October 1 in Cape Town
The International Cricket Council and Cricket South Africa will officially announce the schedule for the ICC ODI World Cup 2027 on October 1, 2026, in Cape Town. The tournament is set to run from October 4 to November 21, 2027, hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. South Africa will host 44 matches, Zimbabwe 10, and Namibia at least three. The 14-team event will have 10 teams qualifying directly by September 30, 2026, including hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe, and top-ranked teams like India, Australia, and England. The remaining four spots will be decided through a global qualifier tournament held from February 22 to March 23, 2027. Additionally, Boland’s Pro20 Cup matches will temporarily be played without fans due to stadium upgrades.
