Jimmy Adams, Hampshire cricket stalwart, departs after 25 years to coach in Australia
Jimmy Adams, a Hampshire cricket legend, is leaving the county after over 25 years as a player and coach. Adams, aged 46, has accepted a coaching role with Tasmania in Australia after eight years coaching at Hampshire's Utilita Bowl. He retired from playing in 2018 with 462 appearances for Hampshire and 19,723 runs. Born in Winchester, Adams debuted for Hampshire in 2001, captained the team from 2012 to 2015, and helped secure five trophies. Named lead batting coach in 2022, he contributed to Hampshire's Vitality Blast win the same year. Adams expressed gratitude and said he will continue supporting Hampshire despite the move.
