Joe Root surpasses Virat Kohli as the most successful ICC World Test Championship captain

England Test captain Joe Root has set several new records recently, including surpassing former India captain Virat Kohli in ICC World Test Championship (WTC) wins following England's 3-0 series whitewash over Pakistan at Edgbaston. Root now has 15 WTC wins at a 41.66% win rate, just ahead of Kohli's 14 wins at 63.63%. He also became the first batter in Test history to score over 2,000 runs in the fourth innings, achieving 2,059 runs and surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. Additionally, Root has scored over 1,000 Test runs at four different grounds, the first to do so, joining an elite group with Jacques Kallis and Ricky Ponting. Edgbaston became his fourth such venue after Lord's, Manchester, and The Oval.
