Mohammad Kaif urges patience for Bhuvneshwar Kumar after costly performances in India-New Zealand T20I series
Mohammad Kaif has called on Indian cricket fans to be patient with Bhuvneshwar Kumar after the veteran bowler's return to the national team saw two expensive spells in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. Having been out of the Indian side for nearly four years, Bhuvneshwar struggled in his comeback matches, conceding 49 and 50 runs in consecutive games. Kaif noted that New Zealand's pitches in these matches favored batsmen, a departure from traditional conditions in SENA nations which usually assist bowlers like Bhuvneshwar who rely on swing. He emphasized the difference between IPL and international cricket and that adjustments take time, especially after a long absence. Kaif also highlighted that while Bhuvneshwar faced challenges with no-balls and conceded runs in certain phases, his overall bowling included decent spells and advised critics to wait until the series concludes before making judgments.
