Mohammed Siraj appointed captain of Hyderabad cricket team for Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season
Mohammed Siraj has been named captain of the Hyderabad cricket team for the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season by the Hyderabad Cricket Association Senior Selection Committee. He replaces Rahul Singh and will be deputized by Chama Milind, who will lead in Siraj's absence. Siraj gained leadership experience last season, leading Hyderabad in matches against Mumbai and Chhattisgarh, with those games ending in a loss and a draw respectively. Hyderabad finished fourth in Group D of last season but will compete in Group B this year, starting their campaign on October 11 against Tripura. The team management has expressed confidence in Siraj's ability to lead the team through a full season both as captain and key pace bowler.
