Murali Kartik Comments on India's Close Win and Batting Issues Against New Zealand

Former Indian cricketer and commentator Murali Kartik reflected on India's narrow win against New Zealand in the rain-affected second ODI at Wellington on November 7, 2026. India secured a 4-run victory using the DLS method, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Kartik noted that the match outcome was uncertain at the rain stoppage, with India needing 22 more runs and only three wickets remaining. While praising the bowlers for restricting New Zealand to 134 runs, Kartik criticized Indian batters for repeatedly losing wickets regularly and failing to build partnerships. Despite these setbacks, India emerged with a hard-fought victory.
