Pablo Garcia Leaves Real Betis For Racing Santander

Real Betis have officially confirmed the permanent transfer of Pablo García to Racing Santander, bringing an end to the young forward’s long association with the Seville club. García joined the Real Betis academy at pre-benjamín level and progressed through virtually every stage of the club’s youth system before eventually earning his opportunity with the senior team. The Sevilla-born attacker made his LaLiga debut in January 2025 and went on to establish himself as one of the most promising players to emerge from the Betis academy in recent years. The Spain Under-21 international leaves Betis after making 33 appearances and scoring three goals for the first team. Although Betis have allowed him to move permanently, the club have ensured they could still benefit significantly from his future development. Their official statement confirms that Betis have retained a percentage of any future transfer fee, as well as a matching right that could give them an opportunity to act if another club moves for García later in his career. Spanish reports indicate Betis have retained around 50% of García’s economic rights, showing that the club continue to believe strongly in his long-term potential despite allowing him to leave. García had previously extended his Betis contract until 2029 after spending more than a decade in the academy, but the opportunity for greater first-team involvement has now taken him to Racing Santander. For Racing, the move provides them with a versatile left-footed attacker who can operate on either wing and already has top-flight experience despite still being only 20 years old. For Betis, García’s departure marks the end of a journey that began when he was a child and eventually took him all the way to the first team.
