Pakistan Cricket Board May Impose Two-Year Ban on Imam-ul-Haq Amid Lord’s Test Injury Dispute

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show-cause notice to Pakistani opener Imam-ul-Haq regarding his calf injury during the second Test against England at Lord’s. Imam did not play after sustaining a low-grade tear while fielding, but the PCB has questioned the legitimacy of the injury after he was seen participating in light training with a heavily strapped calf. The board has given Imam 48 hours to provide an explanation and is considering disciplinary action, including a potential two-year ban and termination of his central contract. This comes after Imam and six other players were sent home following Pakistan’s heavy defeat in the series. Past injury controversies involving Imam have also resurfaced during the inquiry.
