Pakistan Cricket Board to Revise Central Contracts with Focus on Young Players as Advised by Mike Hesson
Following Pakistan's recent tri-series win against England and Sri Lanka, head coach Mike Hesson has recommended several young cricketers for inclusion in the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) 2026-27 central contracts. New names such as Arafat Minhas and Saad Baig, who performed notably in the tri-series, are expected to be offered contracts. Conversely, senior players Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq are likely to lose their central contracts due to inconsistent form and omission from recent squads. The PCB plans to announce the updated contracts soon, with some contracts designated for specific formats. Meanwhile, established players including captains Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Sahabzada Farhan are set to retain their contracts.
