Parthiv Patel Reveals RCB Ignored His Jasprit Bumrah Suggestion in 2014 IPL Auction
Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel disclosed that he had recommended Jasprit Bumrah to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the 2014 IPL mega auction, but the franchise did not show interest. Bumrah was subsequently bought by Mumbai Indians for ₹1.20 crore and became one of India's leading bowlers. Patel also revealed he was once advised to prepare for the RCB captaincy in IPL 2020, but coaching staff changes prevented this. Despite a tough final season with RCB, Patel expressed gratitude to the team for their support when his father was critically ill in 2019. He praised Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings for their strong team environments and treatment of players.
