Prasidh Krishna fit for India-New Zealand Test series despite missing ODI matches
Prasidh Krishna, out of the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury sustained during a recent home series, has been declared fit to participate in the following two-match Test series. The Karnataka pacer is expected to join the official Test squad and might feature in the final unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A to regain match fitness. Auqib Nabi has replaced Krishna in the ODI squad, making his debut in the series after initial inclusion for the last two matches. Krishna has shown inconsistency in ODIs, taking 45 wickets in 25 matches at an average of 25.78 and economy rate of 5.91, with highlights like 4/12 against the West Indies in 2022. India aims to challenge New Zealand in the 50-over format, having last won there in 2018-19 under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. The ODI series starts November 4 with matches in Auckland and Wellington, followed by Tests in Wellington and Christchurch.
