Shreyas Iyer comments on the value of Jasprit Bumrah's return for India against Afghanistan
Ahead of the first T20I match between India and Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi, captain Shreyas Iyer discussed the return of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah to the Indian squad. Bumrah missed previous series against England and Sri Lanka but has now rejoined the team, which Iyer described as a luxury due to Bumrah's experience and match-winning capabilities. For the first T20I of the series, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was dropped, with India reverting to their original openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma and opting for two spinners. Bumrah made an impactful comeback by taking the wicket of Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the opening over and reaching the milestone of 350 T20 wickets, becoming the third Indian bowler to reach this figure. India dominated the early stages of the match, with Afghanistan struggling at 50 runs for five wickets after 10 overs.
