Sri Lanka Announces ODI and T20I Squads for England Tour with Kusal Mendis as Captain and Charith Asalanka as Vice-Captain
Sri Lanka Cricket has officially revealed the 16-member squads for their upcoming white-ball tour of England. Kusal Mendis will captain both the ODI and T20I teams, with Charith Asalanka serving as vice-captain in both formats. The tour begins with a three-match T20I series starting September 15th, followed by a three-match ODI series starting September 22nd, with venues including Southampton, Cardiff, Manchester, Durham, Leeds, and The Oval in London. Former captain Dasun Shanaka returns to the ODI and T20I squads, providing additional experience. The squads include players exclusive to either format, as well as nine players participating in both. Sri Lanka aims to carry forward their recent form from the West Indies tour into this England series, where they secured an ODI series win and narrowly lost the T20I series in June 2026.
