Sunil Gavaskar criticizes Shamar Joseph's bowling tactics after Arshdeep Singh injury in T20I
During the fourth T20I match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on October 14, West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph came under fire for bowling dangerously towards Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh. Joseph's repeated deliveries targeted Arshdeep's body, resulting in a painful blow to Arshdeep's arm which forced him to retire hurt. India needed 35 runs from the final over with just one wicket left, but Arshdeep's injury hampered India's chase, allowing West Indies to win and level the series 2-2. Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar condemned Joseph's tactics, saying he should have aimed at the stumps rather than Arshdeep's body to avoid worsening the injury. India captain Shreyas Iyer indicated support for Arshdeep's return for the series decider, scheduled for October 17 in Bengaluru.
