Ahead of the India versus Afghanistan three-match T20I series starting September 13 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi encountered a difficult net session against India's pacers, especially Jasprit Bumrah. Fresh from the red-ball format Duleep Trophy final and as the leading run-scorer in IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi struggled particularly against Bumrah's pace. During the session, he missed consecutive deliveries but managed to respond to a yorker and a well-placed ball. Former India batter Ajinkya Rahane advised Sooryavanshi to stick to his natural game, emphasizing it's early in his international career for adjustments.
