WPL 2027 Player Retention Lists Announced by All Women's Premier League Teams
The Women's Premier League (WPL) is set to kick off its fifth edition from January to February 2027. Ahead of this, all franchises have submitted their player retention and release lists by the September 28, 2026 deadline set by the BCCI. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the defending champions, retained key player Ellyse Perry, who missed last year's edition due to personal reasons. Mumbai Indians and RCB continue to rely on captains Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, respectively, both of whom have led their teams to two trophies each. Other notable retentions include Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma for their franchises, with several players released across teams to make way for new signings.
