Yuzvendra Chahal Likely to Return to Indian Cricket Team, Says Report

According to a report by Times of India journalist Arani Basu, India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer has requested the inclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal in the national T20 squad. Chahal, who last played T20I for India in August 2023 and last featured in the IPL for Punjab Kings under Iyer's captaincy, has been out of the national team for some time. The recent return of experienced players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the team selection panel has signaled a shift from favoring youth exclusively. Chahal, a 36-year-old leg-spinner with 72 ODIs and 80 T20Is, has demonstrated consistent performances in domestic and IPL seasons, potentially making him a strong candidate for a comeback. However, the final decision lies with the selectors who may reassess their strategy to include experienced performers regardless of age.
